Dr Schroeder is a bioinformatics researcher with a masters degree in Computer Science, a PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Melbourne, and 10 years of postdoctoral experience at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and Monash University. Jan has led numerous bioinformatics studies and collaborated with dozens of researchers in fields spanning immunology, cancer, stem cells, and brain development. This includes developing algorithms, pipelines, and analysing diverse omics datasets. Jan is well versed at providing project support for: study design, data processing, data analysis, interpretation, and publication.  

  • Key Achievements
    • Dr Schroeder is an accomplished bioinformatician with years of experience in data analysis and methods development. Jan is also an accomplished teacher, lecturing bioinformatics at the University of Melbourne for four years as well as supervising students.  
      Jan has collaborated with dozens of research groups to date and successfully published manuscripts in high impact journals, such as Nature, Nature Communications, Bioinformatics, Stem Cell Reports, Cell Reports, Cancer Cell, or Genome Research. His collaborations have allowed him to develop a wide range of biological understanding including stem cells, brain development, cancer, organism development, and immunology.
