Jacqueline is a Research Program Manager at the Doherty Institute having joined in 2020 as part of the COVID-19 pandemic response. With experience working across research and public health laboratories, she has managed multiple projects that include participant research in the fields of diagnostics and genomics for infectious diseases. 

In 2022, Jacqueline commenced PhD studies with a focus on innovative ways to diagnose infectious diseases including rapid testing, self-collection and self-testing to increase access to diagnostic testing.

  • Key Achievements
    • In 2023, Jacqueline took part in the MDHS Health Innovation and Enterprise Bootcamp and delivered the winning pitch for her team, she also won first place and the people’s choice award in the Doherty Institute’s 3MT competition.

      The Williamson research group focuses on the development and evaluation of new diagnostic tests, and the translation of genomic technologies to infectious diseases. Their research has directly influenced the way microbiology is applied to clinical practice and public health, including responses to antimicrobial resistance, sexually-transmitted pathogens and COVID-19.
