Dr Ashley Hirons is a Research Officer in the Purcell lab group of Molecular Virology, where she studies the pathogenesis of Human T-cell Lymphotropic virus type-1 (HTLV-1). She studied Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Calgary, Canada (BSc), and then completed her honours degree at the University of Melbourne (Hons). Dr Hirons PhD in Virology at the University of Melbourne was conferred in 2023.
