Dr. Courtney Ierano is an early career researcher and an experienced antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) pharmacist. She completed her PhD with the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship (NCAS) focusing on antimicrobial use in surgery. Courtney is currently an NCAS Post-Doctorate Fellow pursuing further research in the fields of AMS and health services research.
Courtney is the Program Manager for the National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey (NAPS), developed and administered by the Royal Melbourne Hospital's Guidance Group. She is jointly appointed at NCAS as a Chief Investigator for the Medical Research Future Fund Research Data Infrastructure (MRFF RDI) $2.9 million grant, which aims to enhance appropriate antimicrobial use through the implementation of digital health solutions.
