Dr. Courtney Ierano is an early career researcher and an experienced antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) pharmacist. She completed her PhD with the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship (NCAS) focusing on antimicrobial use in surgery. Courtney is currently an NCAS Post-Doctorate Fellow pursuing further research in the fields of AMS and health services research.

Courtney is the Program Manager for the National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey (NAPS), developed and administered by the Royal Melbourne Hospital's Guidance Group. She is jointly appointed at NCAS as a Chief Investigator for the Medical Research Future Fund Research Data Infrastructure (MRFF RDI) $2.9 million grant, which aims to enhance appropriate antimicrobial use through the implementation of digital health solutions.

- Dr Courtney Ierano is an early career research pharmacist (BPharm Hons) and completed her PhD with the Melbourne Medical School (University of Melbourne).
  
  She is also the inaugural Society of Hospital Pharmacists (SHPA) Advanced Training Resident in Infectious Diseases (2020-22).
  
  The NAPS program managed by Courtney has been successfully implemented for over 10 years now and serves as a widely embraced auditing platform, NAPS has garnered participation from over 80% of hospitals in Australia, with an expanding number of aged care home sites also adopting the program.
  
  Courtney was awarded the 2022 Victorian, SHPA William Mercer Young Achiever Award for her expertise and commitment to education and research in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship and was recently shortlisted for the 2022 Victorian Premier Award for Health and Medical Research.
