Dr Brooke Wanrooy is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at The University of Melbourne. He received his PhD from Monash University where he investigated the contribution of neutrophils to post-stroke neuroinflammation. In 2024 he joined the group of Associate Professor Ashraful Haque at the Doherty Institute to investigate the role of T cells in response to malarial infection.

      The Haque Group use a combination of experimental models, single-cell genomics, and computational biology, to study host/pathogen interactions and immune responses during infectious disease and cancer treatment. Our goal is to develop new strategies for preventing these diseases in humans.
