Abukari Yakubu received his PhD degree in computer science from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. His research has contributed to investigating security vulnerabilities and blockchain functionalities in genomic analytics for personalised medicine, genomic access control, and DNA sequence classification. His work advances our understanding of genomic privacy and addresses the need to efficiently secure genomic analytics in bioinformatics. He is currently a senior software developer with the Guidance Group where he works as part of the technical team to develop, maintain and improve applications required for effective and efficient antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programs.

  • Key Achievements
    • Since joining the Guidance Group, Abukari has been instrumental in developing and improving applications in the area of antimicrobial stewardship. He has been involved in enhancing and building new application features for the National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey (NAPS) program,  a standardised auditing tool designed to assist healthcare facilities to assess the appropriateness of antimicrobial prescriptions.
