Ella Casale is a Project Manager in the McDevitt Group leading operational delivery of the novel ionophore combination therapeutic (PBT2) for treatment of drug-resistant community acquired bacterial pneumonia. Ella has experience managing national and regional public health projects and programs through her roles at the UK Health Security Agency and Public Health England. She has worked on a diverse range of projects tackling antimicrobial resistance, covering topics such as health equity, co-infections with COVID-19, national AMR surveillance and public awareness campaigns.

McDevitt Group
The McDevitt groups research investigates the interaction of pathogenic bacteria, e.g. Streptococcus pneumoniae, with the host environment with a particular focus on the role of metal ions. To understand the chemical biology of these interactions, we use state-of-the-art microbiology, biochemical and biophysical approaches.
