Dr Kathryn Tiedje is a Research Fellow working in the laboratory of Prof. Karen Day based in the Bio21 Institute. Following the completion her PhD in Organic Chemistry from Dalhousie University (Canada), she undertook an MPH at New York University (USA). Kathryn is an epidemiologist with expertise in field study design/implementation and genomic epidemiology. Since 2013, Kathryn has been focused on understanding the impact of seasonality and malaria control interventions on the reservoir of asymptomatic Plasmodium falciparum infections in high transmission settings in Ghana. The nature of her research is highly collaborative and inter-disciplinary as she works closely with researchers and partners based in endemic regions to strengthen ongoing malaria surveillance programmes.
