Doherty Seminar Series: Aboriginal community-controlled responses to complex health challenges
Caroline Kell, Executive Director of Policy, Advocacy, Research and Communications at Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO), recently presented a special webinar as part of the Doherty Seminar Series.
VACCHO believes that Aboriginal-led solutions will help to deliver the long-term social, emotional and wellbeing needs for Aboriginal communities. Caroline presents the work that VACCHO has been doing to support and protect Aboriginal communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, including supporting the Black Lives Matter protests, as well as Balit Durn Durn - VACCHO’s submission to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System, which provides practical solutions for mental health system reforms to better meet the needs of Aboriginal people, families and communities.
